Same box, opposite job.
A furnace burns fuel a few feet from the air you breathe. Every heating call is a safety inspection first, a comfort call second.
What it usually is, and what we do about it.
The common patterns we see across Bexar County. Yours gets diagnosed with gauges, not this table — but it tells you what to expect.
Tell us your symptomWhen the furnace needs looking at.
Texas heating seasons are short, which is exactly why problems go unnoticed until the first hard freeze — the night everyone in the county calls at once.
Gas heat is a safety inspection too.
A furnace burns fuel a few feet from the air your family breathes. Anything we find on the safety side gets shown to you, in plain language, before we talk about comfort.

Furnace questions, answered straight.
More of them, with numbers, on the questions page →
Why does my furnace turn on and then shut off?+
Most often it is a dirty flame sensor or a limit switch tripping from poor airflow. Check the filter first; if the filter is clean, the sensor or limit needs a technician.
Is it safe to run a furnace that smells like burning?+
A dusty smell on the first cold night is normal and should clear within an hour. A smell that lingers, smells electrical, or comes with a CO alarm is not — shut it off and call.
How long does a furnace last in San Antonio?+
Many gas furnaces here last 15 to 20 years because they run fewer hours than up north. The heat exchanger’s condition and the repair cost compared with replacement matter more than the age.
Do you repair electric furnaces too?+
Yes — gas, electric and dual-fuel furnaces from every major brand, plus the heat pumps many of them are paired with.
What does a furnace repair visit include?+
A diagnosis first, then a gas safety check — heat exchanger, combustion, venting and carbon monoxide — and the price in writing before any repair starts.
