Getting a truck to your property

Spring Branch is roughly 28 miles north of our shop at 6510 Blanco Rd, up US 281 past the Highway 46 interchange. That is a 35 to 40 minute drive most of the day, though weekend traffic heading toward Canyon Lake can slow the last few miles. Addresses out here are spread thin, and many sit well off the highway down a caliche drive or behind a gate, so when we confirm your appointment we ask for the gate code and any landmark that helps — mailbox numbers on 281 side roads are not always reliable, and cell coverage in the canyons can drop just when the technician needs to call. We answer and dispatch 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and non-emergency visits usually get a same-day or next-morning window.

Rural equipment, rural problems

Almost nothing out here runs on natural gas. We service heat pumps with electric backup heat and propane furnaces, and those two setups fail in different ways: heat pumps struggle on the coldest Hill Country mornings when the defrost control or reversing valve is weak, while propane systems tend to have ignition and flame-sensing faults that show up on the first cold night of the season. Older manufactured homes and ranch houses often use package units or downflow furnaces, and parts for the oldest of them can be genuinely hard to source, which is a conversation worth having before spending money on a repair.

Location does the rest of the damage. Cedar and oak debris cakes condenser coils, unpaved drives push fine dust through filters into blower wheels, and rodents and wasps get into outdoor units and attic duct on properties surrounded by brush. Power on the end of a rural feeder flickers more than it does in the city, and repeated dips are hard on compressors and contactors, so surge protection is worth more here than most places. We also see a lot of part-time houses near Canyon Lake — systems that sit idle for weeks, then get asked to pull a hot house down to 72 the afternoon guests arrive. Those benefit from a check before the season rather than an emergency call during it.
