What service out here actually looks like

Our trucks leave the shop at 6510 Blanco Rd in north central San Antonio, and New Braunfels sits roughly 35 miles up I-35 — about 40 minutes when traffic cooperates, closer to an hour if we catch the afternoon crawl through Selma and Schertz. Because we dispatch 24 hours a day, seven days a week, a 2 a.m. call gets a technician pointed toward Comal County that night instead of a slot on tomorrow’s board. For work that isn’t an emergency we normally offer same-day or next-morning arrival windows, and the tech calls before leaving the previous job so nobody burns a whole afternoon waiting by the door.

The houses we work on here

This is really two housing markets, and each one breaks in its own way. The older streets around downtown and Gruene are full of mid-century homes that have been added onto over the decades: one thermostat trying to condition rooms that were never part of the original load calculation, return air that is far too small for the tonnage, and duct runs snaking through attics where the insulation has gone brittle. That combination shows up as a back bedroom that never gets cool and a condenser that runs almost continuously through August.

The newer side of town is a different story. The subdivisions that went up during the growth boom off FM 306, Kohlenberg Road, and out toward Veramendi are now old enough that the builder-grade equipment installed with them is reaching the end of its service life — first compressor failures, leaking evaporator coils, and blower motors that finally give out. Most of those two-story plans hide the air handler in the attic, so a plugged condensate drain announces itself as a stain on a ceiling before anyone notices a comfort problem. Add the humidity that rolls off the Guadalupe and Comal rivers and undersized or poorly sealed duct systems start sweating, which is why we check static pressure and drain lines on every call rather than just topping off refrigerant.

Most calls are straightforward air conditioning repair, and when a system quits on a holiday weekend or in the middle of the night we run emergency AC repair around the clock — useful if you have a river-front rental with guests arriving. When a unit is past saving we handle installation and replacement as an authorized Trane dealer, sizing the new system to the house instead of copying the old label. We also take care of heating repair and maintenance before the first hard freeze and duct cleaning for homes with dust and airflow complaints. On repair work we service all major brands.
